Grant Thornton
Adam is director of public affairs, policy and insights at Grant Thornton. He leads Grant Thornton’s advocacy work on policies that will shape a vibrant economy and provides advice on policy challenges and political change. A central part of his role is to identify and support solutions to systemic issues, enabling business and civic society to collaborate to build an inclusive economy.
Adam’s 25 years’ experience in government, policy and public affairs in UK and Brussels includes:
- Senior leadership positions in the UK government civil service including the UK Representation to the EU in Brussels, the Department for Transport, and as a speechwriter to cabinet ministers.
- Finance Director at the Department of Trade and Industry and director of small business policy and programmes at the Department for Business and Skills.
- Director of public policy at Tesco Plc, from 2006-0,8 leading their public policy in the UK and EU and their carbon reduction programme.
Adam is chair of the Business with Purpose working group of the UK National Advisory Board on Impact Investing and is a trustee of Watermans Arts Centre in West London.
He is a member of the London & International Insurance Brokers Association (LIIBA) Brexit working group and the Financial Reporting Council Brexit Working Group.
