When we think about the Climate Crisis, we tend to think about carbon emissions and footprints – what we think less about is species-loss; delicate eco-systems changing dangerously quickly; bird and insect migration patterns and destinations shifting as temperatures rise.

These issues are where the RSPB’s expertise comes in. At a SERA panel discussion in Brighton, the new Chief Executive of the RSPB (and former Chief Executive of the Wildlife Trust) Beccy Speight called for 2% of GDP to be spent on tackling climate change and the loss of nature in the UK. That’s £42 billion per year.

Hear her full argument from the SERA 2019 event above.
